Ok....first of all you will be eating those words when you become elderly. Next, why did you even waste your time complaining about this? And lastly who do you think you are telling old people that they can't drive? They have just as mucha right as you do to be driving if they are not legally blind or DUI.

The speed limit is the limit, not the speed drivers are required to drive. I can see your aggrevation if an elderly driver is driving slowly holding up traffic, because it seems as if they are having trouble seeing to not be able to see properly;but, unless they are breaking the law or seem wreck-less, then you will just have to tolerate them. Tis the American way. We all share the road together. Most senior drivers have paid their taxes too. If you have a valid concern about a driver you may alert the police. Until then ,practice you patience. It's a virtue we could all work on. all pay taxes

Don't you have a clue that it's very hard for seniors to give up their independence! They know how to drive but are a lot more cautious. So what!! Seniors value their independence like anybody else. Young people today are the ones to be concerned about. We'll see how you react and behave when you're in your 70's and beyond! Me, I'm far from being up there but am aware from my grandfather and parents. It's part of life!! Have some patience!!

aloha- i agree w/ you that old people should not be allowed to be driving at all. that is dmv fault for letting old bats be allowed to be driving in this country. my mom was still driving untile she was 70 inmy home state hawaii. my dad did drive until he was 86 in my home state hawaii. i think dmv all over this county need to stop renewing driver license to old bats and they are the most bad drivers in this country.

you ask why......they have the right to. we live in america we are the land of the brave and the free...respect the old people...or leave.. if you do drive for a living i fill sorry for everyone around you....all you care about is your self it shows in your rant.do your self a favor and go to a rest home and visit some one there and then think about what you saying about our senior citizens..if it wasent for them you would even be here....if you dont like the way they drive how about you take them to were the would like to go...i hope they take your driving privivegas away from you....i wouldent even call you a citizen of my america. your a freak................

all im saying is that when i drive on the interstates or rural roads ,you have these senior citizens ( and i'm not saying that they shouldnt drive at all) who drive underneath the speed limit or drive all over the road . there needs to be a limit on when its unsafe for a person to drive . if a senior citizen p[BLEEP] the driving test & drives well im all for it but there is a bunch that shouldnt drive simply because their mind is too old to comprehend that they arent driving like they should be

You cant say that "old" people cant drive also you cant make them retake the entire test after a certain age...however I think that everytime your drivers license expires you should have to retake the entire test...that would take out the age discrimination

After I woke up from your boring speech, I decided to comment............on.............your....................case. At a certain age, say 70 for argument sake, humans should be required to re-take the entire drivers exam. Elderly folks reflexes usually slow down and so they drive slower, kind of how you talk. The thing that really gets me is that you don't complain about new drivers who speed and cross three lanes of traffic without signaling, tailgating, and texting while driving. John, I think you're a moron and likely drive like one too. You said you drive for a living so I'm hoping that you don't live in my area. Good luck on your quest for useless feedback.

I totally disagree with your case. A 55 zone is the MAXIMUM speed limit based on ideal driving conditions. Just because a person is more cautious and doesn't drive the MAXIMUM speed limit doessn't mean they shouldn't be able to drive. Remember, these older people probably have a lot more driving experience than you. After a certain age I'm pretty sure that most everywhere in North America requires a medical every so often (maybe 3 years). I'm a 32 year old professional driver (class 2 bus driver license with 2.5 years experience driving ambulances and driving in open pit mines with the biggest machinery in the world). I understand SAFE driving techniques. There is no limit to how slow a person can drive. There's just a maximum!!!!!

People over 50 are too experienced to stomp the gas between lights and mash the brakes a block ahead. It shaves fractions of seconds off trips while beating your 30k purchase like a red headed stepchild. It always ends up that thrashed car aint worth what's owed, while everyone down the block waves cash for the old dudes cherry ride.

quote Rayd=At a certain age, say 70 for argument sake, humans should be required to re-take the entire drivers exam.(unquote) Rayd, that's discrimination. You have any special rules for ethnic minorities too? ..... Anyone that espouses an age for loss of privileges without cause is practicing discrimination. IN AMERICA we don't DO that....Perhaps you could move to some country that still practices open discrimination like most of the countries in Africa or the Middle East, where slavery is still practiced under other names, but still slavery.

Suzan, with that attitude you'll never make it to 50, much less become "OLD"....IF you do, I fervently hope someone offers to take away your driving license and uses YOUR reasons to do it. By the way Suzan, learn to spell please.

Too bad most of the "young" complainers can't spell or punctuate. I guess modern schools don't teach that in this age. All you "young" people that are in favor of taking driving licenses away from anyone with no cause better not ever get old, you won't like discrimination any more than I do. I always thought you had to actually DO something related to poor eyesight or reflexes before anyone wanted you off the road. I know, why don't you lobby for automatic electrocution for anyone over 65. Think of all the money the Gov can save not paying out any of the billions of dollars put IN by the now elderly to Social Security "thinking" foolishly that when they got to 65 they'd start getting it back. I'm sure you could figure out some way to get the Gov to give it to you. I'm 68, have a class 3 chauffeurs license, and have been driving safely WITHOUT ONE ACCIDENT that was my fault in 51 years of driving. I do NOT drive slow. I am NOT a defensive driver. I don't believe in defensive driving, I think it's the quickest way to die on the road. Here's a puzzle for all you folks that think only in the NOW without realizing they too will someday get old, MAYBE.. I get to a 4 way stop sign at exactly the same time as 3 other drivers. Who goes first??? The answer is "I DO" Let all those other worriers decide who goes second while I drive to my destination. The standard response is "the guy on my right goes first" but..that goes around over and over because there IS no first driver. That's why I go first. Offensive driving all the time. It's a sad state of affairs that people like "sweets" complains about someone else's grammar but she can't spell "correctly"correctly.heh

aloha- old bats all over this country should not be allowed to be driving at all. and this is dmv fault for letting old bats be driving all over this county. and yet old bats is under social security w/ fix low income too. i wonder how old bats can pay for their car insurance w/ their social security money every month? my parents did drive in my home state hawaii until they was 86 year old.dmv need to ban renewing driver liscence to old bats all over this country. i hope that old bats do die when they are driving and killed someone too.
