I believe a woman that goes around for years claiming that a guy is the father of her child knowing that there are other possibilities should be sued and have to pay punitive damages such as pain and suffering. Some women, like men, are conniving and liars and what's good for the geese is good for the gander.

The easy answer, where a condom, not everything is a law suit. If he slept with her, its a risk you take, know who you let in your bed.

SHE MIGHT TELL HIM SHE IS LATE?
Now is that a lie? She has missed her period and tells him this. She has only told him and everybody else. Until she gets a test from a Dr., not a home test, she is not lying? His marriage might end and his life may be ruined but to sue? What if she counter sues claiming he promised to marry her or even claimed he loved her but by just a his actions alone would prove to any sensible person that he lied first and you must have clean hands to win a court case, RIGHT?

no i dont see a lawsuit for defamation of character. For it to be defamation of character the lie would have had to defame the guy and have some negative impact some examples would be because of this lie this guy couldn't get a certain job, lost his new girlfriend, ruined his reputation, etc. then which the guy would have to prove what it did to the judge. There might be something else to sue for but i dont think that is it

i'm sorry -did you say defamation of character? cause the legal defense for D.O.C is the truth, so where does the defamation come in? sorry just trying to understand whether there is a legal precdence- i don't really see one, or maybe you mean punitive damages, like to punish her for lying? in any case if that's all he suffered painful as it was he should thank his stars and move on- you really don't want to create life w/ such a miserable human being anyway so he is probably better off and should definiley remember to "look deep before you leap". starting a family is a huge responsibility and no should do so until they are financially, emotionally, and spiritually able to provide for the needs of another human being. best wishes.

yes they should be sued for defamation of character. it's wrong. there also could be a case of forging legal do[BLEEP]ents. another wise idea would be to know who you are getting into bed with!

Raising a question is fine, but what's your opinion on the matter? You need to post your thoughts and back them up to be on this website. Thanks!

Defamation is some one defaming you by baring false witness against you. You have to prove who said it, that it was false and you where damaged by what was said. Then you must prove your damages. Loss of income such as people pulling their child from your day care. If you where fired from a job bring in a statement that gives the reason. Though I doubt many people will actually admit to letting you go based on a rumor especially if it is character related because that would open them up to a discrimination claim. If you sleep with and you don't want a child too bad. She is your psycho now hope she's at least 18 and for about 3 months she can be pregnant and then all of a sudden she has a mis carriage either way during that three months you will have defined who you really are to everyone even yourself.

A rattling bush always belongs to a snake.
Even though when you have sex with someone it's sort of 'at your own risk' kind of thing. I think it isn't rational to assume that this person might victimize you by making false accusations. Catching a VD is one thing especially if neither party was aware of it but creating a lie to manipulate the other person isn't something you should have to reasonably worry about, especially if you have no prior indication that the individual is devious. I don't think this is defamation of character because getting someone pregnant isn't a crime. The examples in you video are all crimes. My understanding of defamation is if I said you were a child molester to prevent you from getting a job at a child day care and you in turn were not hired, that would be defamation. Lying to someone to manipulate them to do what you want or get money is definitely criminal or should be. Perhaps, it's blackmail or extortion. But I don't really know what the legal definitions of those terms are, so I may be wrong. Defamation doesn't seem like it fits.

If you accuse someone of being the father of your child publicly then you can be sued for defamation, especially if you fake your pregnancy. But if you knowingly fake a pregnancy for resons say to keep your relationship/marriage together, that's not defamation- that's a bad way to get what you want.

Lets work on changing the culture. For this the "COURTS" need to take a look at the abuse going on and we the people need to support new legislation. Men do suffer from women claiming fake pregnancies. In the long run women in general lose because men are becoming more skeptical and trust levels have diminished. Faking a pregnancy is bad for us all!

my oldest has been lied to a numerous amount of times,..why do girls these days feel its ok to fake pregnancy! its an abomination!!! i think this should be a reason to be able to sue someone, especially if they have produced fake do[BLEEP]ents!! that in itself is fraud!! some people look forwards to having a child and in my case this girl went all the way as to provide sonogram picts and than said the baby was born, still born and was cremated,.....than produced pictures of a child and a childs casket this is wrong on so many levels! my son was heartbroken and still believes there was a child. if something isnt done to teach these girls a lesson, it will continue and it needs to be stopped!!!

Fraud is fraud no matter how you try to mask it. Our government has been looking the other way for too long now. I urge all men to write their congress rep...ASAP and lets put an end to this fullishness.
